Circuit integration
Internal galleries connect cartridge valves, work ports, supply and return. This architecture can combine pressure, flow, directional and load-holding functions in one assembly.
Integration can reduce external pipework, fittings and joints compared with a circuit built from individually connected valves. The result depends on the hydraulic schematic, number of functions and installation conditions.
Design variables
| Variable | Effect on the manifold |
|---|---|
| Circuit function | Defines the sequence and combination of valves required. |
| Flow and pressure | Determine cavities, internal passages, ports and acceptable pressure losses. |
| Fluid and temperature | Influence materials, seals and component operating ranges. |
| Interfaces | Define mounting, connections, actuators, sensors and control signals. |
| Available space | Determines geometry, access and component orientation. |
Application in OEM equipment
For series-produced machinery, a manifold provides a repeatable hydraulic architecture and organised interfaces with the equipment. The design must account for operation, manufacture, assembly, maintenance and access to adjustable or replaceable components.
Valve selection, passage sizing and internal routing must correspond to the application's actual operating conditions.
